Danse Macabre

According to Wikipedia, "Danse Macabre emerged in the Late Middle Ages, particularly during the 14th century, a period marked by widespread mortality due to the Black Death and ongoing conflicts like the Hundred Years' War. This context fostered a morbid fascination with death and the afterlife, leading to the creation of art that depicted the inevitability of death for all, regardless of social status." Danse Macabre typically features skeletons or personifications of death leading the living in a dance towards the grave. I created the woman and Death having an intimate, almost loving, last dance. Unique images were made by artist using AI, printed on water-soluble paper, then transferred to polymer clay. After baking, clay images were hand-painted for enhancement. Clay images were mounted to a wood art board that was covered in pre-printed paper decoupage on all visible sides, then piece was sealed with polyurethane. Comes ready to hang with picture wire and hardware fastened to back.
