Covet Art Gallery Artist Commission Terms

Hey Artist Friend! We’re stoked to be working with you and want to keep things as transparent (and mildly entertaining) as possible. So here’s the scoop on how commissions currently work across our three-headed sales monster. Yes, it’s a bit chaotic right now — but it’s all part of growing something amazing.
1. Exhibitions at Covet Art Gallery – 50/50 Split
When your work is on the walls during a Covet show, sales are split 50/50. Why? Because putting on an exhibition is no joke. There’s marketing, prepping, printing, curating, hanging, lighting, hosting, sweeping, sweating, and yes—schmoozing. We hustle hard to make your work shine, and this split keeps the lights on and the vibes high.
2. Covet Website Marketplace – 70/30 Split
Art sold through our website marketplace (outside of exhibitions) is split 70/30 — you keep 70%!
We keep 30% to help maintain the platform, cover processing fees, promote your work online, and keep things looking cute and clickable.
This is our favorite model (and yours too, probably). It keeps more money in your pocket and lets collectors browse all your available work—not just what's in the show.
3. Artsy Sales – 50/50 Split
We're still riding the Artsy train for now, which means sales made through Artsy are also a 50/50 split.
Why? Because Artsy charges us a monthly arm and a leg (and maybe a toe), plus they take their own commission. 😅 We love the exposure, but it ain’t cheap!
You’re welcome to opt out of Artsy if it doesn’t feel like your scene. No hard feelings, promise.
Final Thoughts.
We strongly encourage you to take part in the Covet platform (both shows and the online marketplace). It’s where all the magic happens. Showing more of your work = more chances to win hearts and make sales. When collectors fall in love with your style, having more pieces available gives them more ways to say YES.
