The Windmill

The Windmill… Somewhere in the 1990’s… I spent all my childhood summers going to that trailer park with my family and friends. I was looking through some old photos from those days and came across the one I ended up using as the reference for this painting. A simple photo—just the boats and the beach. But when I look at it, I can feel the crab grass on my feet growing right where my mom took the picture. I swear I can smell Coors Light and exhaust, and it makes me want to get in the water.
