Hello, I'm Theo D..
I'm a Southern California-based artist and designer. My work explores themes of identity, depression, and the tension between human expression and machine-made perfection. I was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Bernardino mountains. My early years were shaped by undiagnosed ADHD, depression, and a rocky path through the education system, which eventually led me to be homeschooled through high school. I studied graphic design and photography at Cal State San Bernardino, where I co-founded Dotphotozine, a publication highlighting student photography. For over 15 years, I've worked as a graphic designer while continuing to develop my personal art practice. Lately, I've returned to making collage and mixed media work that deals with the emptiness of depression, the instinct to disappear, and the strange friction between human creativity and AI. I work from home in Oceanside, using analog and digital tools to explore what it means to make art in a world overwhelmed by images.
