Hello, I'm Marinés Adrianza.
I’m a Venezuelan-American artist based in Pasadena, California. My work grows from a deep scientific curiosity and a constant desire to observe the world through intimate and often invisible details. I’m inspired by natural systems, processes of transformation, and emotional gestures that often exist beyond language. Through ceramics, textiles, and painting, I explore themes such as imperfection, memory, perception, and the passing of time. Macro photography has shaped the way I see—it has taught me to slow down and find beauty in the smallest details. I’m also drawn to fungi and their networked language, as well as to the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which celebrates the transient, the unfinished, and the imperfect as essential aspects of life. I work with materials that shift over time, collecting marks, cracks, and textures that speak on their own. My work has been exhibited in galleries and art spaces throughout the United States and featured in publications such as Create! Magazine, Juniper Rag, Women United Art Magazine, and the City of Los Angeles Latino Heritage Month calendar. When I'm not involved in the making or contemplation of art, I'm teaching and furthering my sensory education in the kitchen or in the wild with my two children.
