Hello, I'm Kina Lee.
I am an artist/freelance illustrator located in Los Angeles, California. My work is heavily influenced by both Western and Japanese media. Since I specialize in conceptual art and visual development, my visual aim is to bridge the gap between stylized concept work and modern contemporary art. I want to challenge what the conventional views of contemporary art are. I have been inspired by the a wide array of artists and styles. From the haunting works of HR Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński to the conceptual work of Yoshitaka Amano to the late manga artist master Kentaro Miura. My influences have no borders across artistic genres and I want to share that with others who can find theirs emotions in my pieces where words failed. My Kintsugi Girls series represents overcoming past trauma and how there is hope that one day we might mend our shattered fragments to turn into something more beautiful than before. You can be torn apart and broken, but you can always find a way to repair yourself and move forward.
