Hello, I'm Yelena Lev.
ARTIST STATEMENT: My brush moves where vision ends and imagination begins…As a contemporary artist, I seek to distill the spirit of our time — translating the rhythms of the world into forms shaped by feeling, memory, and thought. Rooted in the traditions of oil and acrylic, my work unfolds in layers, where modern textures breathe dimension into familiar mediums. Each painting becomes a mirror refracted through my inner lens, where reality is not merely recorded but reimagined — an intimate tapestry woven from perception and soul. BIO: Yelena Lev is a multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Minsk, Belarus, her journey from Eastern Europe to the American West Coast deeply informs her artistic voice—a unique fusion of cultural memory, spiritual reflection, and personal transformation. Lev holds an M.A. in Architecture from the Belarusian State Academy of Architecture and a B.A. in Painting from California State University, Northridge. Her architectural training continues to shape her visual language, lending her work a strong sense of spatial composition, structural rhythm, and conceptual depth. This blend of disciplines allows her to build layered worlds—both imagined and emotional—where form and meaning are in constant interplay. “My life has been a series of transformations,” Lev says. “Leaving Belarus, shifting careers, becoming a mother—each phase has shaped how I see the world and how I express it in my art.” Lev’s paintings often merge elements of surrealism with poetic symbolism, conjuring serene yet dynamic dreamscapes. In The Revival, floating spheres and symmetrical rock formations suggest a mystical portal, a sacred passage between dimensions. In JC, two abstracted fish appear against a mountainous backdrop, evoking early Christian iconography through a minimalist, contemporary lens. Lev has exhibited across the United States, including at the Laguna Art-A-Fair, San Diego Art Gallery, and the Lancaster Museum of Art and History. Internationally, her work has been featured in Arte Contemporanea at Primo Piano LivinGallery in Lecce Arredo, Italy. She is a member of OCCCA (Orange County Center for Contemporary Art), the Westlake Village Art Guild, and an honored member of the Association of Artists of Belarus. Her creative process is deeply intuitive and introspective. “Each piece is a conversation,” she explains. “I rework and refine until the artwork speaks clearly to me—sometimes that means starting over completely.” Through her evolving body of work, Lev invites viewers into a meditative space of transformation—where the architectural and the ethereal, the personal and the universal, gracefully converge. www.vividartstudio.com http://www.instagram.com/vivid_art_studio_ylev http://www.facebook.com/yelena.lev.9
