Hello, I'm James Michael Knauf.

I'm a photographer and digital artist in Southern California. My work has been recognized with awards in juried photography competitions and invitations to onsite and online gallery exhibitions​,​ and my photographic publications include twice being selected as Editor’s Picks in Aviation Week & Space Technology Magazine’s Annual Photography Contest Issue. My photographic interests are eclectic. I explore themes of our relationship with nature​,​ the cosmos​,​ and ourselves​,​ seeking beauty and the “wow” factor in natural scenes and human creations in compositions and perspectives that evoke contemplation​,​ curiosity​,​ wonder​,​ and emotion. I'm an active member of Photographic and Digital Artists​,​ a collective of seasoned and innovative artists affiliated with the Palos Verdes Art Center in Southern California and specializing in the continually evolving art form of photography.
