Hello, I'm Lori Rivera.
I’m an award-winning painter from Evansville, Indiana creating still life, abstract, and surrealism paintings and have shown my work across the country. Surrealism gives me permission to explore the subconscious through dreamlike juxtapositions, while abstraction allows me the freedom to express raw emotion. Still life grounds me, offering a moment of quiet observation and presence with ordinary objects that can carry extraordinary meaning. I move fluidly between surrealism, abstraction, and still life, allowing each style to become a different language for expressing my inner world. Painting is not just my practice—it is my therapy, providing a healthy outlet to maintain good mental health. Each piece becomes a place where thoughts untangle, anxieties dissolve into brushstrokes, and emotions take form outside of me. My hope is that my paintings become not only a reflection of my own healing, but also a mirror through which others can see fragments of their own emotional journeys. I strive to create a mood for the viewer, however she may interpret it.
