Hello, I'm Michael Souza.

Michael Souza Pencil and Paper Michael is a self-taught artist who works only in pencil and paper​,​ the basics of all art. Michael started sketching 14 years ago​,​ he favors portraits and animals​,​ with a passion to capture the character and personality of the person or animal. Michael has always appreciated the absences of color​,​ starting with an earlier venture into black and white photography and a love for the work of Ansel Adams. Although color is beautiful it can also be distracting​,​ Michael prefers the viewer to use their imagination if they find a need for color​,​ with black and white the focus of the viewer is more on the details​,​ skill and the image being viewed.
