Hello, I'm Cameron Holly Dexter.
Cameron Holly Dexter is a Portland-based collage artist working with femininity, mythology, and the tension between interior and exterior worlds. Her collages utilize vintage imagery, mid-century figures, landscapes, and symbolic motifs to build surreal environments shaped by memory, desire, and cultural inheritance. Through found imagery, Dexter explores how idealized narratives of beauty, leisure, romance, and freedom are internalized, particularly within representations of women. Animals, celestial bodies, signage, and natural elements recur, transforming familiar iconography into dreamlike scenes where meaning remains unresolved and open to interpretation. Dexter’s work has shown at galleries and institutions across the United States, including The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, Coos Art Museum, 1202 Contemporary, TAG (Los Angeles), and Ford Gallery (Portland).
