Hello, I'm Jon Briggs.

San Diego native​,​ born and raised in Encinitas and based in Oceanside for the last twenty-five years. I have a degree in Applied Art & Design from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and have been a professional graphic designer for thirty-plus years. Fifteen of those years were spent as a lead designer and art director at The Upper Deck Company leading design teams for the NBA​,​ NFL​,​ PGA​,​ and Entertainment brands. My personal design work (dzynwrld) draws a ton of inspiration from a love of vintage posters​,​ typography​,​ nature​,​ the Bauhaus​,​ and mid-century modern design. Since about 2019 I've also been more seriously incorporating fine art photography into my creative pursuits. My photography style is probably best described as a blend of abstract minimalism and coastal environmentalism​,​ mixed in with a little street and architectural as well. I frequently lean toward either vibrant natural colors​,​ or moody high-contrast black-and-white that emphasizes shadows and shape. I also like to focus on macro-textures and organic patterns​,​ creating abstract compositions that strip subjects down to their essential forms.
