Hello, I'm Julia Rue.

Julia Rue is a Korean American artist living and working in Puerto Rico as an artist and manager of a Rinzai Zen meditation retreat center. Artist Statement: Through mixed works on paper, I explore my fascination with my two cats and the intimacy of human ecology with the rest of planet earth. Depicting cats and other creatures, my work explores anthropomorphism, anthrozoology, and the enduring human search for meaning through connection and empathy.
