M and M Woodworking, Framing, and Turning Oceanside, CA Wood is a fascinating material to work with. Whatever is being built in my tiny Oceanside, CA wood shop, there is generally a practical purpose in mind for the final piece. Nonetheless, while I continually try to create pieces that will be used in some practical way (I.e. a bowl, a guitar, a cabinet, picture frame, tc.), the material generally has the final say. What is interesting is whether or not I am in the right mind frame to discover the wood’s use before the piece becomes useless. I currently believe if the pieces are not used for a practical purpose, I have failed and wasted a beautiful piece of wood. While I have an idea of how these objects should be used, the real judge of usefulness is you. What will you use these pieces for?
