Hello, I'm Tina Bailey.
My passion is creating three-dimensional paint sculptures that break the barriers of traditional painting. My work extends beyond the canvas and explodes outward from the center. I use a mix of vibrant colors, depth, and textures to draw in the viewer. Heavy acrylic is used to sculpt with an impasto technique or piped like frosting on a cake, resulting in a hardened high gloss finish. I invite and encourage my art to be experienced both visually and by touch. My inspiration for these paint sculptures comes from the medium itself. Heavy texture acrylic dries like hard plastic yet keeps a wet look, opening new ways to build with texture. I study organic forms and recreate them in lasting displays. It’s fun to sculpt clear paint into water ripples, pipe flower petals, and capture spray of an ocean wave. I am also infatuated with recreating frosting covered treats, blending cake decorating with art to make pieces that look edible yet remain permanent.
