Four Faces of Iris

This is my interpretation of an Iris. Its painted over a knot and wood configuration that practically formed the flower itself. Lots of knotted plywood have these kinds of forms. This represents the 4 forms of the Iris life cycle. The bud being the young plant, the adolescent almost fully formed, the adult mature flower and the finished old flower bent over and about to drop seeds to start the next generation. That's what I was seeing as I began this.
