My first Abstracts series was about processing the before and the after of a painful and traumatic loss. This is one of the final paintings of that series. I began writing messages to myself on my canvases, which I would eventually cover up. This time, I unintentionally left one sentence exposed: “I Am Beautiful.” It’s about moving forward, allowing hope in the future to keep you going.
