Torn
Inspired by the insurrection on January 6th, this expressionist painting is about the severe divisions in the US and the rise of facism here. I wanted to show the fighting, and the tearing of our democracy between blue and red states with flames starting to consume it all. I used thick brush strokes in a very gestural way to convey emotions and violence. The piece is painted on all sides and requires no framing. A free hanging kit is included with the purchase.
