Magdalena of the 4th State

Magdalena is a portrait of a vibrant red-headed female figure, wearing a blue mask and bright pink feathery earrings. She is situated on a geometric grid of colorful tiles and is surrounded by a background of flowing water, in the form of a river and a waterslide. Seven water skiing ladies and the goddess Inanna, flank the figure. The distant background is composed of a cloud filled sky and mountains as well as an otherworldly type dwelling. The piece is a representation of the saying, “As above, So below” and how non-physical becomes physical as it flows down through water. All the circle forms above are etheric in nature and the squares/triangles below are physical reality. The reflective elements represent the transition from the magical realm of possibility into the manifested world of reality. Magdelana, like the goddess Inanna, unites heaven and earth.
