Red Lips

This piece is a bit of a mixed metaphor between the styles of Renaissance and abstract art. Historically, red lips symbolize power, confidence, femininity, and rebellion, with deep historical and cultural significance across various societies. Red lipstick has been used for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome. In ancient Egypt, red ochre was used as a cosmetic, symbolizing rebirth and protection. Cleopatra famously wore red lipstick, which represented love and fertility. In ancient Greece and Rome, vibrant lip colors indicated higher social status. Unique image was made by the artist using AI, printed on water-soluble paper, then transferred to polymer clay. After baking, the clay images were hand-painted for enhancement. The clay images were mounted to a wood art board that was covered in pre-printed paper decoupage on all visible sides, then piece was sealed with polyurethane. Comes ready to hang with picture wire and hardware fastened to back.
