"As the Crow Flies"
The crow has been used as both a positive and negative symbol. Because of it's black color and penchant for carrion it has been seen as a bad omen; a harbinger of death. Conversely, it has also been used as a positive symbol of mystery, change and transformation. I tend to agree with the latter--crows are smart, funny and beautiful.
