Materials

Layers of encaustic wax, pigment, and heat converge in a composition that suggest continual movement, and transformation Veils of amber, sage and turquoise drift across the surface, evoking shifting landscapes, flowing water, and the passage of time. Mounted on charred Shou Sui Ban wood, the work explores the tension between fragility and resilience. The encaustic surface reflects change in motion, and the blackened wood bears the marks of fire fire and endurance.
