Gemini, 1994 Ceramic 13" x 10" x 7" $30000 Gemini - Dolls...three little dolls, two on one side. Plump, baby faces, little girl faces. This piece embodies the surrealness of faces blending, one into another, into the other. The faces are flowing from evolution of natural flow of the line and image. The main lines that shape the faces flow up and down in and out of each other. I loved the shape of the way the faces came out. To me, they are innocent looking, child-like and gentle. The pink, purple and lavender colors remind me of the chakra colors - higher level colors and imply a kind of upper chakra pulse. The pink faces are glazed over. At this time in my art creations, I wasn't typically glazing faces. On this piece, however, because I wanted to achieve porcelain doll-like look, I glazed over the faces. Hence, the pink in faces. Pink, to me, is the color of self-love.
