Joey (Revenge Fantasy)

When I started making art about my experience of being sexually assaulted on my college campus, the administration punished me for speaking out. They argued that naming what my assailant did to me was unfair to him, despite him admitting in court that I did not consent. To this day, ten years after the assault, the perpetrator and his family continue to stalk me online. I created this piece as an act of defiance: to show that I will not be silenced and as a reminder that he will have to live with what he did for the rest of his life. Let survivors be angry, let us speak our truth.
