Lost and Found
I found a bag of broken toys in a thrift shop on upper State Street in Santa Barbara. I thought I might use them for a sculpture at the time. But they lingered in my studio in a glass jar. Eventually, I decided that all their broken bodies and overly used pieces would make an interesting painting. Not unlike people, whatever pieces we are in at the moment, we have been appreciated and lived a life unknown to others. I'd love to know their stories.
