This piece has a lot of layered textures and shifting shapes and to me feels like something between excavation and self-realization.The title represents the idea of someone with a quiet voice finding the courage to speak their truth, thus the bold design. The palette came out of experimentation, but I love the fire of the orange, along with the grounding and regal purple.

I will sign my piece on the back. I don't want to disturb the artwork itself. If there is a request to do so, I can always sign the front, but I prefer not to.

Materials

This painting is on a cradled panel. The edges are finished with satin polyurethane wood finisher. The panel was covered with a gel product to preserve the surface of the wood from the image. After that, came two coats of gesso. The painting incorporates mark making with multiple tools as well as acrylic paint.
