Wisdom

This work presents a surreal, contemplative figure whose human face emerges from and dissolves into a living ecology. Rendered in cool grays, the face appears aged and introspective, its piercing eyes meeting the viewer with quiet intensity. From the crown of the head grows a lush, symmetrical plant form—part leaf, part spine—suggesting a fusion of mind and landscape, thought and growth. Curling tendrils, roots, and horn-like spirals extend outward, blurring the boundary between human anatomy and vegetal life. Throughout the composition, small caterpillar-like creatures inhabit the figure’s environment and body, crawling along leaves, blossoms, and even the face itself. These creatures evoke cycles of transformation, vulnerability, and metamorphosis, reinforcing themes of change and becoming. A hand raised to the mouth suggests restraint, contemplation, or silence, as if the figure is holding back speech while absorbing the weight of accumulated knowledge.
