Religious idols are objects or images used to represent a deity or divinity, and they are worshipped or revered by followers of that religion. In Catholicism, images of saints and virgins are considered intermediaries between believers and God, and they are used for prayer and devotion, as well as expressing a community's cultural identity. Currently, icons of popular culture have become a kind of new form of religion, where fans worship and follow them with a devotion similar to that of religious icons. In “Sincretismo Pop” ("Pop Syncretism”), a series of portraits of iconic figures from popular culture such as Yoko Ono, Rosalía, Patti Smith, and Lady Gaga are presented, reimagining them as religious icons. This is inspired by the works of Andy Warhol .
