Hello, I'm Kristie Donathan.
Kristie Donathan is a retired educator and lifelong advocate for the arts, based on Colorado’s Western Slope. With decades of experience in early childhood education and a deep commitment to social-emotional development, Kristie brings a unique perspective to her artistic practice — one grounded in storytelling, connection, and transformation. Her work explores a wide range of media, including recycled book art, book folding, mixed media collage, sculpture, acrylics, and watercolors. She often repurposes materials like vinyl records and old books, breathing new life into forgotten objects. Each piece reflects a journey — both personal and universal — inviting viewers to discover the hidden narratives within. Now fully immersed in her creative journey, Kristie continues to explore new techniques and forms, guided by the same curiosity and care that defined her educational career. “I believe every piece of art has a story waiting to be told — a reflection of where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, and how we grow. Through reclaimed materials and layered media, I aim to honor the beauty of transformation and the quiet power of creativity.” — Kristie Donathan
