Paint Me Pretty, Call Me Broken

Paint Me Pretty, Call Me Broken is a raw yet tender self-portrait cloaked in metaphor. Its duality lies in the title—how society beautifies Queer pain while stigmatizing emotional honesty. Soft washes of pink, fractured silhouettes, and scrawled marks evoke both performance and internal collapse. The work is a protest against Queer objectification and the fetishization of trauma. But it’s also an affirmation—of being worthy of love, even in pieces. Previously exhibited online at the "Figurative Art Collection," The Naturalist Gallery of Contemporary Art, New York City, NY.
