Off-Label Desire reclaims the taboo, unprescribed, and non-binary forms of intimacy. Structured like a diagram gone awry, the painting references pharmaceuticals and the coded language of Queer sexualities. Shapes are clinical but chaotic—boxes bleed, outlines collapse, and desires spill beyond containment. Hanley critiques systems that try to pathologize or “treat” non-conforming love, while asserting that desire, when off-label, is revolutionary.
