Breakdown on the Red Carpet
Based on an experience I had on the red carpet. Walking to the event, I fell and broke my arm. By the time I got to the carpet, I was in a lot of pain, crying, barfing into a fancy trash can. My situation amid all the celebrity spectacle swirling around me - the posing, preening and air kisses- gave me the idea for the painting. It’s about losing it in a place where it’s all about perfection and glamour. The situation put things in a very different perspective.
