Currently part of the Faces 2026 juried online group show exclusively available here. This painting was created from a game. I chose four tubes of watercolors at random and then used them to create this contemporary and stylized interpretation of the mother of science fiction. The artwork uses this random and distinct color palette and fluid watercolor technique to explore central themes from her classic novel, such as isolation, monstrosity, and the human condition. It is the founding study for a larger series I am working on exploring the feminine identity though the words and likenesses of great female writers.
