This painting is part of my Rain series. In Southern California we get very little rain. When it does rain in the winter we often have too much all at once. But rain is always a blessing. In this work the scene shows hard rain filling a pond with the grasses and muddy soil shown in golds and dark earth tones in the foreground. This piece is done using a combination of drip painting and gestural brushwork. I used metallic paint for the golds and silver​/​blue greys and pearlized paint as well. In person the painting has a beautiful iridescence. It is painted on all sides so it needs no framing. A free hanging kit is included with the purchase.
