Liquid Gold
Oyster mushrooms never looked so luxe! Every Tuesday and Saturday, a huge parking lot and part of a baseball field are transformed into the Torrance Certified Farmer’s Market. Year-round, people come to sample a seasonal variety of top-quality produce from about 60 California farms. There’s an assortment of fruits, nuts, vegetables, eggs, honey, baked goods, fish, cut flowers, and nursery stock. I was immediately drawn to these oyster mushrooms because they seemed to glow and float in liquid gold. Unlike the other surrounding earthy produce, they gave off an aura of luxury and movement. A restaurant, cafe, or any dining room would look lovely with a display of "Liquid Gold," a bright image of mushrooms. And gardeners would appreciate the display of the land's bounty.
