Looking North

The aurora borealis, or Northern Lights, is caused by the sun's charged particles interacting with the earth's magnetism at the North Pole. It inspired this painting of one of my favorite places - the Canadian Rockies. In this expressionist abstract landscape a pink aurora dances above the mountain scene. I used a combination of pallet knife techniques and action brushwork to convey movement and spontaneity. The work is painted on all sides so it needs no framing. A free hanging kit is included with the purchase.
