Rain Over Big Rock Candy Mountain

Woody Guthrie's famous folk song Big Rock Candy Mountain was about a fantasy place where all the hungry would be fed and all the homeless would be housed. This painting imagines cruel rain clouds melting a wonderful dream as rain threatens to destroy the mystical mountain made from candy. I used a pallet knife, large brushes, textured iridescent paint, drip painting and a scumbling technique to create a mixture of surfaces. It is painted on all sides and requires no framing. A free hanging kit is included with the purchase.
