Silent Witness

The flowers in the vase burst with color and energy, but in the mirror their reflection feels different quieter, more controlled. This reflects how mental health can feel. On the outside, we may look joyful or “put together,” while inside the experience is far more complicated. What others see doesn’t always match how we’re really feeling. The candle and lamp both give light, but in their own ways. The candle is fragile and fleeting, yet alive like our inner resilience. The lamp is steady and reliable, like the outside supports we lean on: therapy, medication, community. Both matter, and together they help us find our way through the dark. Then there’s the face, tucked low by the vase. It represents the watcher within the self that notices, questions, and longs to be seen. It also speaks to that feeling of being overlooked, even while life around us continues to bloom.
