Single Mom

The title says a lot on its own, but at its core, this piece is about the quiet power of women coming together to raise children. It also reflects the weight they carry—how they're often the ones blamed when things go wrong, when a child goes “bad.” The apple is a layered symbol: the fall, the sin, the blame—something women are handed from the start and expected to carry their whole lives. This piece is a tribute to my mom and the many aunts—by blood and by love—who the only hell they raised is me.
