Inspiration: I love looking down on farmland from an airplane as the patches of browns and greens flow by beneath me. The composition of Lavender Overlook was inspired by that 10,000-foot view, but reimagined. Constructed from various hand-painted papers, it presents a patchwork of colors that evoke a a tactile landscape. The interplay of turquoise and lavender creates a rhythmic flow that guides the eye, instilling a sense of movement, bolstered by the presence of bright white patches that punctuate the scene. In my listing photos, you will see closeups to give you a full sense of the visual texture in the art. Medium: My artwork merges technology (no AI) with traditional art practices. Each painting begins with hand-blotted papers that are scanned into Photoshop. Using this robust software as an artistic tool, I cut and meticulously layer the papers to build my compositions. I can use the scanned papers in their original form, vary the level of transparency, and even alter the colors. I make design decisions based on my own artistic vision, and also to accommodate client requests. This flexibility allows my art to go beyond what's possible with traditional media while still keeping in touch with its hand-made roots. I employ a fine-art printer who ensures my high-res digital files are printed perfectly, mounted on sturdy wood stretchers with 1​/​4" float-mount frames, wired and ready to hang. I have embellished the surface of the fine-art giclée canvas print with hand-painted collage papers and textured medium.
